Solar Panel Price in Pakistan (October 2026)
In October 2026, A-grade solar panels in Pakistan cost about Rs 39.3 to Rs 43.5 per watt, so a 585-watt panel is roughly Rs 23,000 to 25,450. A complete 5kW system costs about Rs 3.3 lakh to 4.5 lakh without batteries, and a 10kW system about Rs 6.5 lakh to 8.9 lakh. New connections are now on net billing, so size the system to your own use.

Your bill now is about Rs 45,000 a month. Your units are on your electricity bill; the rate is the bill amount divided by the units.
How we work it out: about 450 units used directly during the day save your full rate; 495 exported units earn about Rs 9 each under net billing. Shading, tilt, panel brand and your DISCO's terms change the result.

Installed price: panels, inverter, mounting structure, DC/AC wiring and installation. Net-billing application and meter fees (about Rs 15,000–50,000 by size) are extra. Batteries add roughly 50–65%.
Net metering is now net billing
NEPRA's February 2026 regulations ended one-for-one net metering for new solar connections. Units you take from the grid are now billed at your normal tariff, while units you export are paid at a much lower buyback rate of roughly Rs 8 to Rs 11. New agreements run for five years instead of seven. Homes that signed before 9 February 2026 keep their old terms until the agreement ends. In practice this means: size the system to the power you actually use, run heavy loads such as ACs, pumps and washing machines in daylight, and consider batteries if most of your use is at night.
Questions people ask
What is the solar panel price in Pakistan today?
In October 2026, A-grade N-type panels from Jinko, Longi, Canadian, JA and Trina sell for about Rs 39 to Rs 43.5 per watt. A 585-watt panel costs roughly Rs 23,000 to Rs 25,500, and a 620-watt panel about Rs 25,000 to Rs 27,000. Prices move with the dollar, so confirm with your dealer on the day.
How much does a 5kW solar system cost in Pakistan?
A complete 5kW system (about 9 panels of 585 W, a 5kW inverter, structure, wiring and installation) costs about Rs 3.3 to 4.5 lakh without batteries, and about Rs 4.9 to 7.3 lakh with lithium batteries. It produces roughly 600 to 675 units a month depending on the city.
How much does a 10kW solar system cost in Pakistan?
A 10kW system costs about Rs 6.5 to 8.9 lakh without batteries and about Rs 9.8 to 14.7 lakh with lithium batteries. You need around 650 sq ft of shade-free roof and it produces about 1,200 to 1,350 units a month.
Is net metering still available in Pakistan?
Not for new connections. Since NEPRA's February 2026 regulations, new solar users are on net billing: units you take from the grid are charged at your normal tariff, and units you export are paid at a much lower buyback rate of roughly Rs 8 to Rs 11. Agreements signed before 9 February 2026 keep their old net-metering terms until they expire.
What size solar system do I need?
Divide your monthly units by the yield for your city: about 135 units per kW in Karachi, 120 in Lahore and 118 in Islamabad. A home using 900 units a month in Karachi needs about a 7kW system. Under net billing, exporting extra power earns little, so size to your own use rather than the whole roof.
How long does solar take to pay for itself in Pakistan?
Usually about 2 to 3 years for an on-grid system, depending on your tariff and how much of the power you use during the day. Batteries raise the cost but let you use more of your own power at night, which matters more now that exports earn so little.
How much roof space does solar need?
Plan about 65 sq ft of clear, shade-free roof per kW. A 5kW system needs roughly 325 sq ft and a 10kW system about 650 sq ft, before walkways and water tanks.
